Interdisciplinary dance artist Maré Hieronimus creates stirring and contemplative dance/theater works
that begin with the instinctual language of the body
in transition. Out of this body world elements are
added and layered, creating atmospheres that are rich,
visceral, war-torn and sublime. These atmospheres
allude to the world of myth and legend, and conjure up
images of dreams and visions, while telling the hidden
story of the body in motion. Her work focuses on the
unusual, tragic, and redemptive beauty of these tales,
revealed through a rippling, delicate, raw physicality
that is both concentrated and deeply felt. |

The evening includes the works

and "Topiary Horses" (Mare Hieronimus).
“Topiary Horses” is a magical realist dance drama;
a journey into childhood memory and fantasy.
The piece combines elements of dance,
theater, and poetic text as two sisters (Tess Hartman, Mare Hieornimus)
grapple with the loss of childhood wonderment and innocence,
playing with the edge of what is real or imaginary,
and what exists as dream or indisputable fact.
